I'm not ready for this!

Aiden surprised us today by showing us is new talent. Climbing stairs. It was no problem for him. Like he had been doing it all his life.

We live a charmed life....

Josh and I got a night away from the baby. Yipee! Rachael gave us an overnight babysit for Christmas and we are finally getting to use it. We stayed the night at the Sherwood Hills Resort. Not very impressed, but I will review it later.
Then we went to Beaver Creek Lodge, where we went snowmobiling. It was so much fun. A bit scary for me, since I have only had bad experiences ("I had a Bad Experience"...) when snowmobiling. No accidents!

Josh in his snowmobile garb.

Check out my snazzy outfit.

Josh.

Behind Josh is a restroom. Well the top of a restroom, the snow was very high.

Me on the weak snowmobile, Josh gave me the less powerful one since I am the "dangerous one," he said.

My bottom hurt so badly I could not sit on the snowmobile any longer. So I decided to ice my behind.

On the way home Josh wore my sunglasses. Click on the picture for a close up of the sparkly gems!

Just Say No to Kid to Kid

AAAAAAHHHHHHH. I am so frustrated!!! I bought Aiden a travel swing to take on vacation, since the kid only sleeps in his swing or with his mommy. (and the award for parent of the year goes to...) Any way, while there I turned it on and it swung fine. Get it home, put a little weight in it (Aiden) and the thing makes noise but doesn't move. Go to Walmart spend $70 get one that works. Today I tried to return the busted one. They said, "that's strange usually we test it out on a 10 lb baby doll". They put the doll in, sure enough the thing makes noise like it's swinging but doesn't actually swing. They agree with me and then say but we don't accept returns on equipment. Sucks to be you. So they sold me crappy stuff and refuse to give me my money back or at least a store credit. I still had my receipt. I called Josh, he called them and threatened to charge it back on the credit card and now I get to go make a second trip to get my money back. I will never shop at kid to kid again. The reason I went in there was to find cheap jammies but all they had was crap that had been through the ringer for $3.50. I went to Carters and got brand new jammies for $5.00. If you want I'll give you the $1.50 difference not to shop there. It's the principle of the thing not the lousy 25 bucks they tried to rob me of. ....end venting...

I am doing a walk for Autism. Saturday, May 3rd. Please make a donation. Even if it's only $1, $5 or $100. I will love you forever. You can also join my team. Even if you don't know somebody with autism, it sounds like a nice day to go for a walk with Aiden and I.

Update

Little Easter our baby chick didn't make it. She died this evening. Please don't comment and tell me how sorry you are, it'll just make me cry again when I read them. I know you all care. I just wanted to pass this along so in a few months I don't get, "so how's that little chick you got." Thanks for the fun comments and warm wishes you already sent.

New Addition to our Family!

Today we went to IFA. "Oh No," I hear you say. Oh Yes! Josh said I could have a baby chick. But when we got there, they would only sell them in groups of 5 or more. Yikes! I don't want 5 chickens. How 'bout a duck? Same deal 5 or more. If I wanted a turkey I could get away with buying only 2. So I was thinking, maybe no. There was this really cute little yellow baby chick I was holding while I was deciding if I wanted a herd of chicks. I asked the lady about her because she seemed like she was lethargic. The lady said that she was probably going to die. She had just spent a week in the mail and all the others chicks that were shipped with her arrived dead. Usually they only spend 2 days in the mail. The lady said if I wanted to take her home that she would just give her (she said it, I'm calling it a her) to me. So we now how a little chick named Easter. She might die but we are giving her constant attention and making her eat and drink. I guess we'll see how it goes. I think our little Easter is a surviver, she is the only one that arrived alive, she's a fighter.

Josh fell asleep holding Easter. She was happy to be warm.

Aiden about to abuse the poor chick.

Advise please

Alright I don't appreciate advise from strangers or even family members unless I ask. Now I am asking. My adorable little baby has turned into a brat. What do I do? I don't want to say "No" ALL the time. I feel so negative. Especially since he is now mobile, he's naughty. His two favorites, Mommy's pink laptop and Dog food. The bad mom part of me sometimes thinks, "is dog food really that bad for him." I just don't want to be discipling him all day long.

Also he is a little tantrumer. He was throwing a tantrum today and I just starting laughing at him and he kind of smiled a little pouty smile. He didn't understand why I was smiling. And it made me laugh harder. I couldn't stop. What do I do about the tantrum? He arches his back and screams and kicks his legs. I thought he was too young for this. I take away the naughty thing he gets into and he tantrums. I know what to do with big kid tantrums but baby ones, I am at a loss. Help me. I could try and read about it in books but have to keep one eye glued to Aiden at all times. Should I cage the little monkey?

Lazy Days

Day 4 was our Lazy Day. Much needed after 2 days in California's Largest theme park. We slept in, lay around in PJ's....

Ate a lot, like veggie puffs... (Mom ate healthy stuff, like cookies)

Played with our new toys... (He picked out Piglet. Believe me I tried to deter him from the pink toy)

Ate at Mom's favorite fast food place.. (Why oh why won't you come to Utah)

Yum Yum Fries

Sunscreen

I was thinking about the picture at the beach where Aiden is totally covered in super thick suncreen. I did that to him everyday. Poor kid. I thought about it and how Rachael hardly ever put any on her kids. My excuse, I am a paranoid first time mom. I don't want him to get sunburned and hurt and hate me. Not only hate me now but when he is in his 40's and diagnosed with skin cancer and he will blame me for that. So instead the boy is going to get Rickets.

The sunscreen would not come off his head with just water.

Also I was sure to have sun protection in the form of a dorky hat.

California Adventure

Day 3
We went to California Adventure. Aiden met Pluto. The biggest dog he's ever seen.

He liked Snow White. Would fit perfectly in the Dwarfs home.

About to watch the 3D Muppets Show. Nice Chompers.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar ride.

Spinning Lady Bug Ride.

This is A Bugs Life area and we were all the size of bugs.

Too tired to lift my head..

Not too tired to smile

And he's out.

I'm Going to Disneyland

On day 2 of our adventure...

The submarine ride. Loved it.

The Winnie the Pooh ride. Loved it more!

Waited my whole life to meet Mickey and I fell asleep.

Woke up a tiny bit for Minnie.

Full on snoozin'

Fireworks. Loved 'em (Way past my bedtime)

Asleep on the car ride home.
A bunch of people said that Aiden was too young to enjoy Disneyland. I totally disagree. Sure, he won't remember this but I will and he had a great time. He loved it so much. Watching him having such a good time made it even funner for me.

Video's and slide shows will be coming when I am home and have more time. I didn't even get all our posts and pictures up from the Bahamas and Aiden and I were off again. We are so lucky to have a Daddy that works so hard for us so that we can have so much fun. We miss you Daddy!

Beach Day

Aiden and I are in California with Rachael, Parker & Bella. We were all supposed to drive out last Thursday, but Aiden was sick so he and I stayed behind and flew in on Tuesday when he was feeling better.
After we arrived on Tuesday, we made our way to the beach.
First thing, I set up the pop-up sun tent and set Aiden in there so I could get everything else set up and get organized before we got sand everywhere. Oh wait, Aiden can crawl...

It didn't take him but a few seconds to find the sand.
Aiden's first Experience with sand.

("What? " You say, "I thought you just returned from the Bahamas?" I don't want to talk about it. I will just say this, Crappy Crappy Weather.)

This is an albino child we met along the way.
Do ya think this kid has enough sun screen on him? And does that sand taste yummy?

Does it get an better than that...

Mommy helped Aiden try out the water for the first time. Brrrrrr, cold.

Aunt Rachael helping Aiden in the water. (Rachael, How did your kids survive you?)

As cute as this little boy looks, It is going to be a long while until we go to the beach again. Sand and baby just do not mix. I don't know how he managed it but he got more sand on him than I have ever scene before, on anybody! He rubbed it in his eyes, ate it, in his ears... By the end of our beach adventure Aiden was not a happy boy. (However he was in this adorable picture, I didn't get any of him unhappy, since I was trying to console him)

Girls Night

Wednesday night Josh studies and I have a girls night. This Wednesday Aiden was pretty sick so I asked Josh to study at home and watch Aiden. I don't think much studying got done but that's ok cuz they are super cute together.
This is what I found when I got home.

Cute Sleepy Boys
Pay no attention to Aiden's messy room. No matter how many times I ask, I cannot get that boy to clean his room.

Hey There Flipper

In Nassau Bahamas we got to swim with the dolphins.
Josh forgot to tell me that my sun screen wasn't rubbed in. Nice.
My boyfriend.

Josh's Boyfriend ;P

Two Dolphins making me fly like Superman

The Dolphin foot push was awesome. Go Josh Go.

Aiden was just whalin (get it) on the poor guy. he he.

Aiden LOVED the big slimy dog.
Kiana not so much

Just say no to crack!

This place was one of the best facilities I have ever seen for Dolphins. Their labor laws were pretty awesome as well. The dolphins worked on a volunteer basis. Which meant if they didn't feel like performing they didn't have to. This left for a bunch of time just chillin in the water waiting for somedolph to decide he wanted to work. So much fun though.
