Ridiculous!

That is the only way to describe our Valentine's Day Photo's. With us just having a new baby, the only thing I wanted to do for Valentines is get our picture taken. What a Joke!!
I may as well accept that we are never going to have a decent family picture again. Getting 2 kids and Josh to cooperate is impossible.
Aiden cried and fought us the entire family pictures. Then later inside he wouldn't hold still for pictures of him and his brother. He was tossing Owen around like a rag doll. I should just put the entire reel of Aiden up here. He has some pretty funny faces. He used to be so good for the camera. I miss those days.
Owen of course couldn't keep his eyes open for more than a minute.
I put the very best ones we could get, out of like 200 pictures, seriously. And a couple goof offs. For your viewing pleasure....

Lessons Learned

I have learned a few things with this baby.
1) When I have brought people dinner, I have been doing it all wrong. Apparently you go all out and include several side dishes and dessert. I think I was just doing a main dish. Ooops.
2) If you are low on the ziplock reusable containers, have a kid. We are now fully stocked.
3) I have been a really bad friend. Upon asking for stuff for the gender info on Owen, We did receive a few gifts that I feel enormously guilty for. I realized that several of these gifts came from people that too had had a baby in the last couple years that I had done nothing for. I can assure you, I mostly just wanted help with meals and cleaning, but am VERY grateful for Owen's clothes since he had very little. But also realized that most the meals I have done for people over the years have been ward members and most the meals we received were from friends. I promise to do better with my friends.
4) Two kids is TEN times as hard as one. Not twice like you would imagine. Not once in Aiden's 2 years and 9 months have I even come close to running out of diapers. My mom had to run to Wal-Mart today because Owen ran out :)

More to come....

1 week!

Owen is now 1 week old! I cried a lot! Probably, just giving birth wacky hormones. I just really don't want him to grow up and he's now a week old.

We have a good routine down. Owen wakes up when ever he's hungry and I drop whatever I'm doing or wake up, and feed him.

Aiden doesn't pay much mind to Owen. He just notices if the baby is missing or crying or we are doing something different with Owen, like changing his diaper. Other than that he mostly ignores him. He has had a hard time with his name. For several days he has called him Noah. However this morning daddy asked Aiden what his brothers name is and he said, "Noah... Nowen... Owen!" So he did get it on his own. Unfortunately now Josh has on occasion called our baby Noah or Nowen.

I'm recovering. Slower than I'd like. Although for the first few days home, we discovered Josh was over medicating me. Now that we have the right dose and time, it's good to be awake occasionally:) Next week frightens me because Josh will be going back to work and I don't know how I'm going to take care of 2 kids alone. I guess we'll see.

Here are some 1 week pictures.

Introducing Owen David Aune

Owen David Aune arrived Thursday, February 4th, 2010 at 12:54pm. He weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. and was 18 inches tall.
The surgery was amazing. I was completely scared and hyperventilating. There were some complications with my uterus and other organs from the prior c-section, so the operation was longer than anticipated and more surgery, which means more of a recovery.

Owen had a bunch of brown hair. It is beautiful and I hope it doesn't fall out.
This baby looks and acts nothing like Aiden. Or us for that matter. We may have a DNA test just to make sure he's ours.Going home
Owen entering our house for the first time
Aiden meeting Owen. It was absolutely precious. Aiden came over and I told him that we got the baby out of my tummy. Aiden said, "Good Job!" Aiden was soft with the baby asked to hold him for a second and then got tired of him and moved on.
We are very excited to have this new addition to our family. Thank you everyone for your warm wishes, visits, help and new baby clothes. Owen was very concerned about having to remain naked once he arrived.
While I'm recovering and am still on drugs, we would still love help with Aiden or meals...
